CUT – WOJTEK PUSTOŁA

Exhibition open from 27.03 to 06.06.2021 - Opening 03/27/2021, 12:00

A twenty-kilometre-wide strip of the Apuan Alps, rising above the small Italian town of Carrara, conceals a stone that, depending on its quality and thanks to its mottled structure, can vary from pure white to various shades of grey: Carrara marble. Wojtek Pustoła is a visual artist, filmmaker, sculptor and set designer, born in Warsaw in 1980. He studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and Inter media at the University of Arts in Poznań. Pustoła has developed a characteristic minimalist style, visible in his sculptural, scenic, cinematic and performative works. He is the author of marble sculptures created using a direct cutting technique, unusual for stone. This monographic exhibition retraces the story the artist weaves with his favourite material, marble.
